Spring into the Stroud District – Events 2019

The trees are blossoming. The sun has that toasty warmth and there’s light in the sky, just that little bit earlier in the morning, and a little later into the evening. So we know what this means……Spring is on the way! After the cold, dreary winter, we can’t wait! And with Spring, comes great community events and activities for everyone to get out and enjoy. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to our beautiful town, there’s so much to see, do and enjoy. So let’s look at what’s happening in and around the Stroud district.

Every Saturday – Two Men & A Pumpkin – Limestone Permaculture – Stroud Road.

Not just a chance to purchase fresh produce, but a wonderful opportunity to look at a very successful working permaculture farm. Designed to lighten our footprint by growing and harvesting a wide range of produce in harmony with our environment, operating year round, it’s always fun and especially more so when the weather is lovely.

August 30 – Saturday – Family Bonfire and Fireworks – Stroud Road Community Hall from 6pm.

Always a great night for the whole family. R & R Property are doing their bit by providing FREE glow sticks for the little peeps to enjoy on the night.

August 30/31 – Monkerai B&S Ball – Riverwood Downs.

Established in 1996 and still going strong, this is the first two-day B&S Ball in Australia. With its lively Friday Night Warm Up Party with live bands and beer to midnight, followed by the main event B&S Ball on the Saturday with live bands, bar and a ute load of great activities. Supporting Beyond Blue, this is a fun event that shouldn’t be missed. You’ll see all the ute’s stopping in town for supplies so make them welcome on their way to the Monkers!

September 7 – Stroud Ghost Tour – Meets at the Court House Museum, Cowper Street

A fun and informative event that taps into Stroud’s rich history and the spirits of convicts; rich, wealthy landowners and poor working class whose presence can still be felt in our Court House, Cemetery and Quambi House. Quambi, never having had electricity or running water is the perfect venue for exploring paranormal and spiritual presence. This tours books out quickly so get in early if you want to enjoy a bit of freaky!

September 13/14 – Friday – Saturday – Stroud Rodeo & Campdraft.

Don’t miss this sensational, action-packed weekend when the little town of Stroud swells from approximately 700 to 5000 as visitors flock to see international standard rodeo and campdraft action. Whilst you’re there make a bee-line for our big, red R&R Property Marquee. R and R Property are not only financial sponsors but also provide FREE activities for the little ones on the day. The Mum’s & Dad’s can enjoy a glass of bubbly and chat with us about all things Real Estate. There’s giveaways, showbags and custom designed rodeo themed face painting for the children. Enjoy the Rodeo Association giveaways, food stalls and rock to the music of Outlaw Avenue at Stroud Showground.
