Well its that time of year again when Stroud is inundated with combi vans and rainbow hair!
Subsonic Music festival is held at Riverwood Downs Retreat in Monkerai this time each year. Festival goers arrive from near and far in all sorts of vehicles; combi vans, buses, cars throbbing with music, travelling from all over Australia. Sometimes the vehicles are stacked high with armchairs and lounges, obviously for the glamping enthusiasts! Whilst wandering the streets you hear a melting pot of dialect in the air.
But I love the outfits and the hair the most; I could people watch for hours; the amazing outfits carefully thrown together and every colour of the rainbow hair – love it!
Once there the entertainment is reportedly provided by over 150 international and local artists from all over Australia and overseas. The light show can be seen from far and wide and the music travels through the mountains.
How amazing is it that we have this on our door step? Stroud and the surrounding towns certainly benefit from this event. Our local shops don’t normally have line-ups at their counters but this is definitely the case before and after the festival.
