Karuah is located on the Karuah River about 53km north of Newcastle. In 2005 Karuah was by passed from the Pacific Highway.
The location is popular with residents looking for a quiet location to call home and is also a relaxing holiday destination by the river. The main street has cafe’s and crafts, or you can enjoy the local wetlands walk to see the local wildlife
There is a boat ramp, tidal pool and park to enjoy. The area is well known for its oysters farms, and oysters can be purchased locally.
